The PAGG Stack was created by Tim Ferris. Credit where credit's due. He calls it the Four Horsemen of Fat-loss.
What Are the Elements of the PAGG stack?
1. P = Policosanol, 20-25 mg. Take it before bed at night. It can reduce your cholesterol levels (not necessarily something you need to do, based upon the latest research). It also has unproven fat loss potential.
2. A = Alpha Lipoic Acid, 100-300mg. Take with each meal (assuming you're eating every two hours).
ALA has an impressive impact on glucose uptake and reduced triglyceride production.
It increases muscular absorption of the calories - the more calories absorbed into muscle means fewer calories deposited as fat and faster strength gains.
ALA is being explored as an “insulino-mimetic” that can be used to treat type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
3. G = Garlic (or rather the component in Garlic called Allicin), 200 mg. Take with each meal and before bed. This inhibits fat regain and is tremendously good for the immune system.
4. G = Green tea, or rather EgCG (Epigallocatechin gallate), 325 mg. Take with each meal and before bed. Decaffeinated is the best bet. EGCG functions similarly to ALA but also causes death of mature fat cells. Once they're gone, they ain't coming back.
Just to recap:
Prior to breakfast: AGG
Prior to lunch: AGG
Prior to dinner: AGG
Prior to bed: PAGG
Ensure adequate consumption of B-complex vitamins while using PAGG and consult your doctor before use if you have a medical condition (e.g., hypertension, hypoglycemia, diabetes) or are taking any medications. In particular, blood-thinning medications (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, etc.), thyroid medications, or anti-anxiety drugs like clozapine.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use PAGG.
